Can you prevent students from editing D2L discussion posts?

You cannot prevent students from editing Discussion posts on a course-by-course basis, but instructors can see an edit history for discussion posts.

In the Threaded View:

1. Click on the title of the student’s post to open the discussion post.
2. Click to release the More Actions dropdown menu for the post.
3. Choose History.

In the Reading View:

1. Click on the title of the student’s post to open the discussion post.
2. At the top of the page, click on the small arrow next to the post’s tile in order to release a dropdown menu.
3. Choose View Post History.

Please note: You can modify your Discussion display settings by clicking on the Settings gear icon in the upper right corner of the Discussions area.
