Why does my D2L Quiz have a password I didn’t set?

If a password appears in a D2L quiz that you do not remember intentionally adding, it may be a result of using a password manager.

When building or editing a quiz, the optional Password field appears on the Restrictions tab. Many password managers, including the popular LastPass, do not know the difference between this password field and the D2l login password field. As a result, your password manager may auto fill the quiz password field with your D2L password.

The only workaround to prevent the auto-add is to disable autofill in LastPass.

  1. Go to your LastPass vault.
  2. Go to your saved passwords for Campus Connect.
  3. Select Edit.
  4. Select Advanced Settings.
  5. Select the box for Disable Autofill.
  6. Select Save.

After you have disabled autofill, remember to remove the unwanted password:

  1. Navigate to the Quizzes area of the course.
  2. Select the dropdown arrow next to the quiz you would like to update. Select Edit from the dropdown menu.
  3. Navigate to the Restrictions tab.
  4. Delete the password in the Password field.
  5. Select Save and Close at the bottom of the page.
