Why am I seeing the D2L homepage when I try to insert a Panopto video?

If you are using Safari and see the above problem when you attempt to insert a video in your course, the fix is easy. Safari has changed their default privacy settings to check a box that “Prevents cross-site tracking”. If this box is checked, it prevents D2L from sharing your login information with Panopto, which is necessary for you to see your list of videos. To fix this error:

1. Open Safari
2. From the menu, choose Safari > Preferences
3. Under Privacy, unselect the box next to Prevent cross-site tracking
4. Quit Safari and reload
5. Re-open D2L and insert the video

NOTE: This error also occurs with other 3rd-Party Integrations, such as YouAttend.
